Course Details

This course is suitable for qualified First Aiders, Emergency First Aiders, dental practitioners and dental care professionals, nurses, healthcare professionals and others working in an environment where oxygen is available for casualty welfare. This qualification will provide the knowledge and practical competence required to administer medical oxygen to a patient in line with current guidelines and protocols. The qualification covers how and when to administer oxygen and the safety concerns which need to be considered regarding the carrying, storage and administration of oxygen. This qualification is regulated in the UK and awarded by First Aid Awards (FAA). FAA are an awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation and the qualification sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The qualification is delivered, assessed, and quality assured adhering to the Assessment Principles for Regulated First Aid Qualifications, and delivered and assessed in accordance with the current Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines. The qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The qualification is available to learners aged 16 or over.
